Training courses and educational materials
The Foundation develops and places training courses on its own distance learning portal study.intellectfound.org in the LMS Moodle.
Using the distance learning portal of the Foundation, we have made the training courses completely open for registration and training. The Foundation invites educational institutions and teachers to use these courses in the educational process on a free basis.
Measurement of Substance Use and Abuse
The course "Measurement of Substance Use and Abuse" is designed to familiarize you with a wide range
of tools for measuring dependent behavior, methods of their construction and principles of application.
The course introduces the ethical and legal aspects of measuring and diagnosing chemical
dependencies, modern approaches to the classification of behavioral disorders due to the use of
chemicals in DSM and ICC, methodological and methodological principles of measuring dependent
behavior, including mathematical statistics, which underlie standardization and adaptation of diagnostic
methods. (reliability, validity, correlation and factor analysis), complex and specific tools for diagnosis
and measurement of dependent behavior. The course examines the most common methods for
measuring and diagnosing chemical dependencies, as well as instructions for their application and
interpretation of the results. This course is the second in the educational cycle "Addictive Behavior",
designed to be studied after completeng the introductory course "Introduction to Research Methods in
Substance Use and Abuse ".
Introduction to Research Methods in Substance Use and Abuse
The introductory course "Introduction to Research Methods in Substance Use and Abuse" is designed to
familiarize participants with a wide range of methods used in the study of addictive behavior. The course
introduces the problems of ethical research, design of quantitative and qualitative research,
measurement tools and indicators, methods of sampling, basic procedures for data collection and
analysis. The course focuses on behavioral and social methods and is taught in two languages: Ukrainian
and English. This course is the first in the training cycle "Addictive Behavior", after getting acquainted
with it, we recommend to proceed to the study of the course "Measurement of Substance Use and
Abuse".
